*Using best practices, news will most likely not run multiple times in a row. The goal is to have it noticed as much as possible. We do not want it to become “white noise” that Membership isn’t paying attention to. If it needs to run multiple times, please submit it as early as possible allowing us time to schedule appropriately.

New Creative Approval Process
(With Downloadable Brand Kit Files)
As we continue to grow and represent the Coquille Indian Tribe across a wide range of platforms and partnerships, it’s more important than ever that we present a unified and culturally grounded identity. To support this, we have asked our Communications and Culture departments to implement a new Creative Approval Process that will help us align all materials intended to reach Tribal citizens, staff, or the general public, with our values and visual standards.
This process is designed to support creators, not take over their work. Creative is here to help ensure your projects reflect the Tribe’s values and visual identity while making your job easier.
More details will be shared at upcoming all-staff meetings. In the meantime, thank you for helping us protect and promote the integrity of the Coquille Indian Tribe’s identity.
Effective immediately (October 30, 2025) per Mark Johnston, Tribal Government CEO, and Caryn Mickelson, Health & Wellness CEO, any creative content—whether developed internally or by outside contractors—MUST be reviewed and approved by both the Culture Department and the Communications Department before publication or distribution.
This process does not replace the existing method for submitting items to the K’wen Newsletter or MyTribe via the Staff Dashboard, rather it is intended to enhance and streamline.
- Flyers
- Pamphlets
- Advertising (print, radio, digital)
- Social media posts
- Signage
- Postcards
- Any materials representing the Tribe, including those where the Tribe is listed as a sponsor
If you’re working with an outside contractor, the Creative team should be involved from the beginning of the project through final approval. Our goal is streamlined collaboration.
These brand guidelines have been developed by Communications from existing brand elements and approved by the Culture Department.
The brand cheat sheet includes colors for digital (HEX), print (CMYK), and professional printer PMS (spot) printing, as well as fonts for title, headings, and body text when representing the Coquille Indian Tribe, Ko-Kwel Wellness Center, and more.
If you do not have the Lithograph font, please reach out to Creative@coquilletribe.org for the file and installation instructions.
Want to know what’s coming next? Below you’ll find a preview of Creative’s transition plan to Canva Enterprise and how we plan to streamline approvals, reduce confusion, and empower staff with clear, culturally grounded design tools.
This can be in the form of:
- A link to editable Canva files
- Check with Creative regarding other potential sources
- (Publisher files are not supported on our end)

Please allow up to 3 business days for Creative to process your submission.
- For news and events, it is best practice to submit to the K’wen 4-6 weeks ahead of any event deadlines. To account for this, we recommend submitting to Creative a week ahead of that timeline.
Once your submission to Creative has been approved, it may then be submitted on the Staff Dashboard as News, an Event, or as a MyTribe Update.
